More than 1000 Filipinos to join the 1st Math2Shine IVMC
Over 1000 Filipino students to be assisted by over 50 local coordinators will participate in the 1st Math2Shine International Vedic Mathematics Competition to be held online on July 22, 2023.
This competition is considered to be the second training event for the biggest VM event of the year, the 3rd International Vedic Mathematics Olympiad (IVMO 2023) which is organized by the Institute for the Advancement of Vedic Mathematics (IAVM), a British registered charity dedicated to the promotion of VM worldwide.
Last year, in IVMO 2022, over 1,800 students from 10 countries participated. This is nearly a four-fold increase over the 475 participants in IVMO 2021. This year IAVM is expecting more than 7,000 entries.
In the first VM competition in the Philippines this year, the 3rd MATH-Inic Vedic Mathematics National Challenge, over 1,800 students from 130 schools and more than 60 schools division competed. This is an indication of the growing popularity of VM here in the Philippines.
The 3rd and final training event for IVMO 2023 is the 4th Philippine National Vedic Mathematics Olympiad scheduled on September 30, 2023. With this, the Philippines hopes to improve its performance in IVMO 2022, where we won 152 Gold, 329 Silver and 530 Bronze awards.
MATH-Inic Philippines is the organizer of the MATH-Inic Vedic Mathematics National Challenge and the Philippine National Vedic Mathematics Olympiad while it is the Philippine partner of Math2Shine and IAVM in the international competitions.
