James Glover, chair of the Institute for the Advancement of Vedic Mathematics (IAVM) recently announced that the registration is now open for center coordinators and participants in the 3rd International Vedic Mathematics Olympiad (IVMO 2023) which will be held on November 25, 2023.
In his invitation to be sent to schools and schools division, Mr. Glover says that ”the competition tests speed, problem-solving and mathematical acumen. It is run through Centre Coordinators and can be taken either offline or online, all on the same day.
“There are six levels of entry:
Lower Primary (9 yrs and under)
Upper Primary (11 yrs and under)
Junior (13 yrs and under)
Intermediate (16 yrs and under)
Senior (18 yrs and under) and
“Papers are one hour in duration each with 40 multiple choice questions. The top 30% are awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals and certificates in the ratio 1 : 2 : 3. The next 30% are awarded Merit certificates and the remainder also receive a certificate.”
Mr. Glover added, “last year, there were more top scores from the Philippines than any other country, including India! Will the same be true this year?”
The participants must register with and pay their entry fees to their center coordinators not later than November 11, 2023.
Those who want to be Center Coordinators(CCs) must register directly at the IAVM website: https://instavm.org/ivmo-23/ but they may pay thru MATH-Inic Philippines, the Philippine partner of IAVM. Participants who have no center coordinators may also register using that link and IAVM will assign CCs for them.
